Here it is folks! We recently received our shipment of a few well needed pieces of equipment. This particular unit is our new Jacobson Eclipse Greens Mower. This mower offers many benefits to our club and were very excited to start mowing with it. The Eclipse is a hybrid mower, meaning it runs off of a gas engine but that engine also generates power to a set of batteries. The Eclipse has no hydraulic functions on the entire unit. Not one drop of hydraulic fluid anywhere on the mower. The reels and lifts are completely electronic leaving no room for hydraulic leaks to potentially damage our greens. The other benefit to this mower is it has an FOC (frequency of cut) setting on it. This means we can set the reels to spin faster or slower to create a better cut. If we want to double cut the greens we are able to speed up the reels and actually get the same cut in just one pass. We can also mow at a higher height with this function giving us a more true cut without compromising green speed therefore resulting in better turf quality. Needless to say were very excited to start mowing and experimenting with this new unit!
